Don Sainte‑Johnn is a veteran broadcaster, author, and media educator whose career spans the influential Top 40‑dominant era of radio and some of America’s most important markets, including San Francisco, Chicago, Sacramento, San Diego, St. Louis, Modesto, and Yuma.

Best known for his historic role as the last Top 40 disc jockey hired by KFRC San Francisco during the station’s legendary hit‑making years, Sainte‑Johnn was part of a generation of broadcasters who helped personify radio and define the connection between DJs, music, and listeners.

His broadcasting career also includes 13 years as the afternoon‑drive personality at iHeart’s V101 Sacramento, where he also served as music scheduler, helping shape the station’s programming and sound for Northern California audiences.

Sainte‑Johnn is the author of San Francisco’s LAST TOP 40 DISC JOCKEY (Another One Bites the Dust), a memoir that delves behind the scenes and stories of radio’s cultural history, offering a personal reflection from inside one of America’s most influential radio formats. The book has been accepted into the permanent collection of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Library & Archives, preserving the story of Top 40 radio and the broadcasters who helped create its legacy.

Today, Sainte‑Johnn continues to share his expertise as a Mass Media instructor at American River College, while also working as a broadcast consultant, writer, and speaker on radio, media, and storytelling.
